Hiva Bana, Esq.

Founder and President

Hiva Bana is the founder and president of The Injury Firm, driven by a deep passion for advocating on behalf of those who often go unheard.

Her journey into law was guided by a simple yet profound mission: to be a voice for the voiceless. Whether representing clients who have suffered personal injuries or advocating for the protection of animals, Mrs. Bana is committed to making a meaningful impact in every life she touches.

With a vision of redefining the traditional law firm model, Mrs. Bana established The Injury Firm as a service-first practice—one where client advocacy takes precedence over business metrics. She is equally devoted to fostering a workplace culture that prioritizes teamwork, camaraderie, and a strong sense of community. Through team-building activities, bonding events, and a dynamic office environment, she has created a firm where colleagues support one another and take pride in their work. This balance of professionalism and collaboration drives a unified team that passionately fights for clients while maintaining a positive and engaging workplace.

Mrs. Bana firmly believes that a thriving team translates to exceptional client service. By fostering an environment where attorneys and staff are motivated, valued, and aligned in their dedication to excellence, she ensures that every client receives not only the best possible legal outcome but also an unparalleled level of care and service.

A distinguished legal scholar, Mrs. Bana graduated among the top three of her class at Western State College of Law, earning multiple prestigious Witkin Awards in recognition of her academic excellence. However, beyond her accolades, her true focus remains on creating lasting, positive change—one case at a time.

Outside the courtroom, Mrs. Bana is dedicated to another lifelong mission: establishing a sanctuary for animals in need. Her work is a direct reflection of her deeply held values—compassion, dedication, and an unwavering commitment to justice for both people and animals alike.

Amir K. Nevis, Esq.

Senior Litigation Attorney

Mr. Amir K. Nevis is the Senior Litigation Attorney at The Injury Firm, bringing a wealth of experience and a deep commitment to advocating for injury victims. He has secured settlements totaling more than $50 million. His journey to becoming a legal advocate is one defined by resilience, determination, and an unwavering dedication to justice.

Born in Iran, Mr. Nevis and his family escaped the country when he was just 11 months old during the Iran-Iraq War. They sought refuge in Germany, where he spent the first seven years of his life as a refugee before immigrating to the United States in 1993. His early years were marked by constant relocation, as his family struggled to make ends meet. He moved from Los Angeles to San Diego, then to Anaheim, Rancho Santa Margarita, Riverside, and beyond, attending multiple schools along the way. These experiences shaped his ability to connect with people from all backgrounds, instilling in him the empathy and perseverance that now define his legal career.

Mr. Nevis was the first in his family to attend college, earning his bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of California, Riverside (UCR). Before pursuing law, he worked in the professional sports industry, holding positions with the Los Angeles Clippers and the Sacramento Kings. However, his passion for advocacy and justice ultimately led him to law school.

During law school, Mr. Nevis excelled academically, earning multiple honors, including the prestigious Witkin Award in Evidence, which is awarded to the top student in the class. Following law school, he began his legal career working for an insurance defense firm, where he gained valuable insight into how insurance companies approach litigation. Armed with this knowledge, he transitioned to representing injury victims, working for several prominent Plaintiff Personal Injury Firms. Through this experience, he developed the skills and expertise necessary to take on insurance companies and fight for the maximum compensation his clients deserve.

As Supervising Litigation Attorney at The Injury Firm, Mr. Nevis brings a strategic and aggressive approach to litigation, ensuring that each case is handled with the highest level of advocacy and dedication. His ability to anticipate insurance company tactics and craft compelling legal strategies has helped secure substantial recoveries for his clients. He is particularly skilled in holding insurance companies accountable for bad faith conduct, ensuring that they honor their obligations to policyholders and injured victims.

Mr. Nevis has successfully opened numerous insurance policies, a crucial litigation strategy that occurs when an insurance company wrongfully refuses to settle a claim within policy limits, exposing them to greater financial liability. By leveraging insurance bad faith laws, he has forced insurers to pay significantly more than the original policy limits, securing the maximum possible recovery for his clients.

Beyond his legal career, Mr. Nevis is deeply committed to giving back to the community and helping those in need. Whether it is supporting the less fortunate, making private donations, or assisting individuals facing hardships, he does so quietly and without seeking recognition. His generosity stems from a genuine desire to make his community and the world a better place, rather than personal acclaim. Those who know him best describe him as someone who leads with kindness and integrity, always putting others before himself.

Outside of the courtroom, Mr. Nevis enjoys spending time with his wife, dog, and two cats. He is an avid traveler and a passionate collector of 1990s action figures and collectibles, a hobby that reflects his appreciation for nostalgia and pop culture. A devoted Los Angeles Lakers fan, he rarely misses a game and has a deep appreciation for the legacy of basketball excellence that the Lakers represent.

Mr. Nevis’ journey from refugee to accomplished attorney and community advocate is a testament to his perseverance, empathy, and dedication to making a meaningful impact in both his clients’ lives and the world around him.
